YogaGlo takes the concept of downloadable audio yoga classes to its logical next step: online streaming video classes which are available any time with your membership.

How it Works

The classes are recorded live at the YogaGlo studio in Santa Monica, California. (If you live near there, you can also take these classes for free with your membership.) The videos are then uploaded to the YogaGlo website, where you can view them. The membership fee is $18 a month, which gives you unlimited access to the online archive of videos.

What’s on Offer

A dizzying array of yoga styles are available, including vinyasa, Anusara, Jivamukti, and prenatal. You can also choose your session by the length of the class (from five minutes to two hours), the level of practice, area of anatomical focus, or the teacher. While some areas are better fleshed out than others, there is enough selection for you to find classes that will suit your needs, plus the content is constantly being updated with new classes.

Why it Works

These videos offer real yoga classes, not some guru demonstrating poses in front of a waterfall. The site offers both depth and breadth, and will only continue to expand. One of the most exciting features is a selection of classes with some of yoga’s leading teachers. Ever wonder what an Anusara class with the style’s founder, John Friend, would be like? Now you can find out.

The site’s big strength is in its variety. Only have time for a short class? You can do that. In the mood for some abdominal work? You can do that too. Yogaglo is a great way to get quality yoga videos any time you want them. Though nothing can totally replicate the experience of a real, live yoga class, YogaGlo offers a very nice alternative.
